How do I know how a piece of art worth?
My father works at a company that cleans the house after the owner is have moved or died and no one says of the possessions of the house. Having obtained all the possessions of output, get an opinion on the document to any person (s) to come and reclaim their property within 30 days. If anyone says that my father is allowed to keep what attracts their attention mainly to go to the local landfill. It was found paints, clay bowls, and masks carved in the clay. He believes they were made by Carole Byard (an African-American activist and author of books for children, and the artist which had its art exhibitions at art galleries, she also won a Coretta Scott King for his books). He does not try to sell, just want to know how much they are worth, are authentic and whether the findings should contact the person. Any help would be appreciated.
You can contact either a museum or art gallery Municipal and who can give a free estimate on the issues. Often these are sites that have loaned works, showing in exhibitions and the preservation and care responsibility, while in his possession, so the frequency for them to see the works and evaluation. If a collection of the artist perhaps his father are considered loans to an institution, I am sure that many people want the chance to see. You can also contact an agent or a fine Art Auction House, but I suggest trying Museum / First State galleries.
